John Doran met up with Adam Ant for the 6th chapter of the British Masters series.

Like previous British Masters, including Bryan Ferry, Johnny Marr and Gary Numan, Adam was an outlier in his field. As John puts it, "Adam Ant’s brand of pop was one of the most berserk and adventurous ever heard, and remains a symbol of what the pure flight of the imagination can achieve”.

Adam talks about his fascination with tribal cultures - both in his vocals and his body art, watching Michael Jackson premiere 'The Moonwalk', and nailing his drummer's flares to the ground. Adam is touring his latest album, 'Blueback Hussar Is Marrying The Gunner's Daughter' (released January 2013) in North America this summer.
