Scotland's only festival dedicated todub, reggae and dancehall returns to Edinburgh's historic Old Town on the first weekend of March 2015, for their Fifth Edition. Once again the festival will see a series of live and club "sessions" taking place across Edinburgh finest underground venues, presenting a varied programme of top class artists and attracting an audience from across the UK and even Europe.

Originally envisaged as a one-night event back in 2009 by Gregory Lapinski (Lionstage UK), the event grew quickly when he joined forces with established promoter Chris Knight (Astrojazz / Kelburn Garden Party). The event now attracts over 2000 music enthusiasts across 5 ticketed sessions, educational events, film screenings and family social events. Wee Dub Festival also continues to build on their relationship with Edinburgh College, providing volunteer and workshop opportunities for the College's music students.

Each session is designed to have a distinct flavour: Session 1 has an urban / club feel with an appearance from MC Soom T backed by the Congo Natty approved futuristic jungle of LaLa & The Booya and progressive dancehall of Manchester's Red Eye Hi-Fi.

Session 2 presents one of the UKs most promising live reggae acts - Onlyjoe - a 10-piece juggernaut complete with blazing horns, big basslines and a 3-line vocal attack. They have established a huge following in England through relentless touring and patronage from the likes of David Rodigan, and now bring their sound to Scotland.

Session 3 is the flagship event of the festival - a huge futuristic dancehall soundclash that pitches the UK's #1 soundsystem, Mungo's Hi-Fi against France's #1, OBF Soundsystem, featuring a trio of famed vocalists: Charlie P, Taiwan MC and Shanti D.

The festival ending party, Session 4, is a mouth-watering bill for fans of roots reggae and dub - pitching London's Notting Hill Carnival legends Channel One Soundsystem against the grandaddy of the scene - Trojan Soundsystem's Earl Gateshead. Edinburgh's dub originator Messenger also joins the session.
