Toots and the Maytels to perform at WOMAD 2017

WOMAD Festival which celebrates 35 years of bringing World Music from all corners of the globe to the UK has announced a further wave of acts for this years event. 

Artists added today include Toots and the Maytels, most enduring band from reggae’s heyday, Roy Ayers, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 will pay tribute to the godfather of Afrobeat, the heady, funk-heavy sound of ’70s Nigeria Fela Kuti who died 20 years ago.  La Dame Blanche will performing her unique explosive mix of hip hop, cumbia, dancehall and reggae Also appearing are !!! ( ‘chk chk chk’) with their distinctive dance punk sound and Nick Mulvey with his delicate, confessional songs.
