Luke Jackson has announced two new high profile tours. In January he will set off on an 11-date tour of England and Wales alongside feted Cardiff-based Amy Wadge, known for her winning songwriting collaboration with “Britain’s hottest pop star” Ed Sheeran.

Luke has also been announced as support act for Marillion, on a UK and European December tour which will see him playing at such venues as Glasgow’s O2, Manchester’s HMV Ritz, London’s Forum and venues in Utrecht, Eindhoven and Cologne.

Before that the widely acclaimed 20 year-old singer songwriter from Canterbury will head out on his own November tour of Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands.

He stepped up a gear this February when he released the follow-up album Fumes and Faith produced by American-born, Cardiff-based producer Mason Neely. A belting blues and roots-infused album it showed how skilfully he had honed his craft in just 18 months. Sparse and stripped back with a wealth of finely-observed narrative songs it received widespread airplay and accolades across BBC Radios 2,3 and 6, showing the widespread appeal of his ever developing music.

Joining forces with Amy Wadge presents one of the most anticipated double header tours of the new year. Between January 15-Feb 13 it will take in Derby, Sheffield, Pontardawe, Bristol, Birmingham, Windsor London (Stanley Halls), Bury and Settle.

Described by Bob Harris as “an irresistible, riveting performer” Amy is widely regarded as one of the country’s most successful female singer songwriters. Her most recent co-write with Ed Sheeran Thinking Out Loud features on his latest album X (pronounced “multiply”) which has become the biggest selling UK album of 2014, and which he is currently showcasing on tour. The song has just hit the Top 10 as Sheeran completes a week of performances at London’s O2. The video for the song, released just a few days ago has already attracted over 10 million hits

Amy, who has worked with Sheeran since he was 17 (his first EP was entitled Songs I Wrote With Amy) says: “I am gobsmacked by the reaction to this song – it was very surreal to hear 16,000 people signing along to it at the O2 arena this week.

Amy who has great vocal range in her emotive songs has twice won the Best Solo Female Artist title at the Welsh Music Awards, ahead of Charlotte Church in 2002 and Cerys Matthews in 2003. A gutsy performer with a voice that is “tough but tender” she has supported some of the world’s great artists -Van Morrison, Damien Rice, Eric Bibb and Jeff Beck has seven album releases to her name.
