Lakefest 2017 Preview Posted on Fri 28th July 2017
Another cracking Lakefest awaits with The Charlatans, Feeder, Imelda May, Alabama 3 and much much more
Lakefest returns to the fabulous Eastnor estate in Herefordshire 10th-14th August 2017. The festival is one of our Festival For All reviewer’s favourites, indeed so good was the 2016 Lakefest bash that our man came over all emotional! Read the FFA Lakefest 2016 Review for just a flavour of what to expect from this excellent family friendly festival.
“There is a passion and a vibe to Lakefest that is a very rare and beautiful thing. Many established festivals strive for years and never quite manage to get the vibe thing going. For such a young festival originating from such humble roots to absolutely nail it in this manner is all rather remarkable, and at a new location to boot.” FFA Lakefest 2016 Review
Carrying on the spirit from a triumphant debut at their new location at Eastnor in 2016, this year promises to be even bigger and better as Lakefest continues to mature into one of the best small / medium festivals around. Family friendly with more music and non-music activities than you can shake the proverbial stick at, the festival genuinely does provide something for everyone. Quality and friendliness pervade the weekend whatever your interests or peccadillos, and the sense of community and belonging they generate will send tingles down yer’ spine!
There is everything from BMX Dirt shows (with a free public riding course), to Tiny Tots Rave, to lots of adult malarkey across the site .. so never a dull moment in a packed weekend.
Musically the event once again punches above its weight with the likes of The Charlatans, Feeder, Imelda May, Alabama 3, Badly Drawn Boy, Wilko Johnson Band, Turin Brakes, Seth Lakeman, ASWAD, and Roving Crows threading the boards.
The festival opens Thursday with entertainment and offers half a dozen stages of established and upcoming acts over the weekend, alongside some rather excellent bars and eateries. Oh and Aloha! …they're heading to Hawaii for their fancy dress theme in 2017 - so expect grass skirt shenanigans aplenty too!
It promises to be an absolute cracker with some weekend and day tickets still available. Why not join FFA for a weekend that should be all rather special.
