The Princess Theatre will be the place to be on 14 February when John Otway and his band headline the St Valentine’s Day Rock and Blues Massacre. John will only be doing a handful of shows during February, so his visit to the town will be a rare opportunity to see this incredibly talented English singer-songwriter.

Over years of extensive touring John has built up a sizeable and loyal cult fanbase. He enjoyed minor success as a duo with Wild Willy Barratt before heading out on a solo career, but he has never really had the recognition he deserves. That, though, has not deterred him - with his surreal sense of humour and self-deprecating persona he continues to attract new fans by 'making success out of failure' an artform. The show has been curated by local promoter Scott Butler, “John is one of the most entertaining artists on the music scene, anyone who comes to see him for the first time is instantly a fan for life” “He has the kind of charisma that draws you to him – and thereafter you are hooked”.

The mayhem kicks off at 7.30pm with Cambridge smooth blues rockers Split Whiskers. High energy R&B from Southend's Jeff Chapman's Roosters will set the scene for Otway's highly entertaining, anarchic set.

Tickets are £16 and are available from the Princess Theatre box office 01485 532252.
