Mencap, the learning disability charity, has confirmed this years headliners for the Little Noise Sessions as Jake Bugg and David Gray, taking place at Union Chapel, Islington, on 22nd and 23rd October. Tickets are priced at £37.50 and go on sale Friday 3rd October at 9am from the Mencap Little Noise Sessions website.
Curated by Broadcaster and Mencap ambassador, Jo Whiley, Mencap’s Little Noise Sessions brings together the biggest and best musical talent in one of London’s most spellbinding venues, Union Chapel.

2014 Mencap’s Little Noise Sessions is exploring the theme of the ‘First Time’, such as a first gig experience. For many this might be an embarrassing boyband or act they’d care to forget. Regardless, for most it’s a milestone of growing up and part of being a music fan. Many people with a learning disability have never been to a gig but by no means through a lack of interest. Those with learning disabilities often need more support than others when it comes to buying tickets or simple logistics of a late night gig. Without such support the alternative can often be staying at home and missing out. Mencap’s work gives those with a learning disability the chance to have brilliant first time experiences.
Zoe, one of Mencap's Young Ambassadors who has a learning disability said, “I have never been to a concert in my life and I am 18 years old. There seems to always be some kind of barrier to music concerts for people with a learning disability. Whether it’s the time, location, price or something else it’s just all too difficult.
“This shouldn’t be the case, young people with a learning disability shouldn’t miss out on any of the fun. Music always gets me really excited. I always sing along to my favourite songs as I can relate to the words and it makes me realise I am not alone.
“I would love to go to a concert and share the experience with others however there are so many people at most concerts and that can feel very scary. Little Noise Sessions will be amazing because it means there isn’t a barrier and I can enjoy the music like any other young person would."
