The fabulous double header of HRH Prog and Sci-fi Weekender returns to Haven Hafan y Mor Holiday Park in North Wales on Thursday 17th March. Two diverse but strangely complementary indoor festivals share the weekend at the former Butlins Pwllheli location. The event is already a sell-out, and no wonder if it’s half as good as last year’s bash. Our Festivals For All reviewers absolutely loved it (Read the 2015 Review).

The location is splendid, offering a comprehensive range of accommodation and great facilities, including enough arena and entertainment space to host TWO distinctive scenes… and your ticket covers BOTH events!

On the music side, the HRH Prog line-up reads like a who’s who of the Prog scene with the likes of Ian Anderson, Focus, Caravan, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, The Enid, and Curved Air treading the boards. The Sci-fi convention offers oodles of activities for Sci-fi fans with big-name guests (Brian Blessed, Glenn Fabry, Dylan Teague, Boo Cook, Simon Davis, Garrett Wang, BBC Radiophonic Workshop) interviews, Q&A sessions, movie screenings, comic video gaming, music, workshops, book readings and plenty more.

It really is a strange and fascinating weekend – there are not many festivals where you get the chance to discuss the minutiae of Prog with a Wookie. This is one festival where your eyes rarely deceive you. It’s a great crowd and a hugely entertaining weekend. It’s no wonder tickets sell like hot cakes and many attendees will be likely booking for 2017 upon arrival at the 2016 bash!

Festivals For All are lucky enough to be covering the weekend. It promises to be an very entertaining and strange few days.
