Galtres Parklands Festival in North Yorkshire (22-24 August 2014) are delighted to announce the addition of superb singer songwriter Foy Vance to the line-up. Hailing from County Down and now based in London, Foy has accrued a huge following of acoustic music fans in the know over the past decade.

Last year’s superb LP Joy of Nothing gave Foy his greatest critical success to date. Built around swelling, emotive compositions, driven along by pounding drums and featuring guest vocals from the legendary Bonny Raitt, the album is a modern acoustic masterpiece with Vance’s vocal, full of worldly beauty and Bruce Springsteen levels of passion-soaked power, at its very heart. Each of his songs twists and turns along with the rises and falls of his spine-chilling voice, seamlessly moving from sweet softness to goosebump-inducing drama. Joy of Nothing deservedly won Vance the Best Album prize at the inaugural Northern Ireland Music Prizes last year.

Foy Vance will be joining their raw and rootsy Friday night bill on the Duke Stage, ahead of folk maestros Bellowhead and headliners the Levellers. He takes the stage, complete with excellent backing band and rakish moustache at 18:15.

Other artists booked to appear include John Otway, Chris Helme, The Human League, Public Service Broadcasting, Foy Vance, The Virginmarys, The Buffalo Skinners and Blackbeard's Tea Party.
