Festival organizers have revealed the full programme for this, the fifth year of the festival. More than fifty acts will be performing over the weekend, including a large number of Channel Island performers, as well as visiting acts from the UK and further afield.

Visiting acts include folk legend Martin Carthy, who last performed in the Bailiwick over fifty years ago. Also announced are Fay Hield and the Hurricane Party, who will be ending the Saturday night line-up and the popular folk singer, Jackie Oates. Returning to the festival are favorite performers The Willows and Breabach. Jersey, Guernsey and Sark are also all represented in the line-up, which includes stalwarts such as the Barley Dogs and The John Wesley Stone, as well as up and coming acts such as St Apolline’s and Chloe Le Page.

Organisers are also pleased to announce that the Thrales Rapper Morris Side will be coming to the festival from Middlesex, performing their lively sword and clog dances around the island. There will also be a number of music and local language workshops over the weekend, as well as activities for children.

Sark’s caterers are also preparing for the festival, with an impressive array of Sark’s produce on offer. Fresh lobster, hog roast, fajitas, homemade vegetarian foods, crepes, and much more will be available to sample. The bar will be serving a selection of local beer and cider, including the Rocquette Cider Company’s still festival cider, Bec du Nez.

Organisers have been busy with the final preparations, and work on the festival site itself will begin next Tuesday 1 July, when the marquees start to go up on the west coast of the island.

Tickets for this year’s festival sold out within minutes of going on sale and the island’s hotels, campsites and ferries are all booked up for the weekend. The festival, which is run entirely by volunteers, takes place on the Isle of Sark on 4-6 July 2014.
