Fame Music and Coffee House Sessions launch Stripped Back Posted on Wed 9th March 2016

The online competition to find the best acoustic artist in the country

Teaming up with Coffee House Sessions, Fame Music is launching Stripped Back, the competition that wants to bring music back to its purest form.

Having scouted talent from all over the world, with previous winners being signed by majors or scoring residencies at famous clubs, Fame Music now brings the opportunity of a life-time to the singer/songwriters of the UK.

Stripped Back seeks to unearth the most talented acoustic artists in the country and offer them unique career opportunities. The competition is open to all UK based singer songwriters who are looking for a new authentic way to get their music heard by the industry, increase their fanbase and media exposure.

From 3rd March, aspiring artists can upload one original track and intro video to www.famemusic.com. Public voting opens on 28th March to select the top 25 tracks that will be judged by the panel to select the top 15 entries. Finalists will upload a second original track and Nina Nesbitt, Huw Stephens, Eric Appapoulay and the public will select the winners who will perform live at an exclusive industry and media event in London.

The winner will embark on the Coffee House Sessions London tour, performing at 10 independent coffee houses in London, with special performances by Nina Nesbitt herself from 16th to 20th May 2016. The final prize also includes production of one track with Eric Appapoulay at Abbey Road, official video clip and international distribution.

This is a unique opportunity that brings together all the facets of the music scene, by supporting high-quality raw talents, connecting them with the industry through an advanced online platform and bringing music to the people through independent coffee houses.

Nina Nesbitt comments, “I have never done anything like this before so I am really excited, I am looking to find someone a bit different, someone who is going to shake it up.”

Huw Stephens I love discovering new music and seeing new talent play live. This is an opportunity for some new talented songwriters to reach out and get some great experience. I look forward to hearing what's on offer!”

Eric Appapoulay comments, “For me, it’s all about the music. No egos. There’s no room for egos. Concentrate on the creative. As a producer, I want to bring out the best in you and how do I achieve that? The best way is to have an understanding of the artists vision. I am looking for a singer that is going to blow me away. Someone who has that emotion and that sensitivity.”
