The organisers of Fairport's Cropredy Convention have announced the first acts booked to appear at the 2015 festival.

The three-day event, staged by folkrock band Fairport Convention, takes place annually near Banbury and is Oxfordshire's most popular music festival.

As host band, Fairport Convention will open the festival on Thursday 13 August with a short semi-acoustic set.

Fairport will be followed by Trad Arrr, a brand new ensemble with a vigorous approach to traditional music. Led by PJ Wright, Trad Arrr will put the rock into folk-rock.

Dreadzone make a welcome return to Cropredy with their unique, genre-busting mix of dub, reggae, and dance music.

Norwegian female quartet Katzenjammer features soaring voices, great songs and an astonishing array of musical instruments.

Witty, often political, songs and sing-along raucousness make The Proclaimers a great festival act and they take the stage on Friday 14 August for their Cropredy debut.

In the 26 years since he left Marillion, Fish has enjoyed a successful and innovative solo career. His distinctive voice and powerful delivery promise a great live show at Cropredy.

Award-winning band Skerryvore are from Tiree in Scotland's Western Isles and their vibrant live set has been described as "the sound of young Scots power-folk."

On Saturday 15 August, Toyah Willcox will be another welcome newcomer to Cropredy when she performs with her band.

Rory Gallagher's former backing musicians, Band of Friends will celebrate Rory's life and music and will be joined on stage by ex-Fairport member Dan ArBras.

Fairport Convention return to the stage on Saturday to close the festival with their traditional headlining set.

Cropredy will also present a set by the winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.

The rest of the line-up, including the Thursday and Friday headliners, will be announced in January 2015.

Fairport's Cropredy Convention festival will be held on its usual farmland site four miles north of Banbury and three miles from Junction 11 of the M40 motorway.

Tickets for Fairport's Cropredy Convention will go on sale for a limited period in time for Christmas. Fairport's online box office will open for one week from Monday 15 December until Sunday 21 December then reopen in February 2015.
