Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Festival returns to the idyllic Oxfordshire village of Cropredy 7-9 August 2014. Not only will you witness one of the most influential bands of any genre ever to grace a stage, but also some major international talent including The Waterboys, Al Stewart, Marillion, Steve Hackett – presenting Genesis Extended, and The Australian Pink Floyd Show. But be warned – it’s already SOLD OUT.

Fairport have almost singlehandedly created a body of musicians over the last 40+ years which has essentially defined English Electric Folk / Folk Rock. Not only do you get an acoustic set from the band, but also their famous last night 3 hour+ jamboree where anything can happen, and frequently does, with current and previous members of the Fairport family sharing the stage alongside other guest artists.

Squeezed in between the Fairport action, the stage is graced by some true giants of the scene, including Al Stewart, and a headline set from The Waterboys, as well as classic Prog Rock action from Steve Hackett, Marillion, and the flash bang wallop of the impressive Australian Pink Floyd.

Other artists on show over the three day bash include Capercaillie, Joe Broughton's Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, Chas & Dave, The Wonder Stuff, The Travelling Band, Churchfitters, Ben Folke Thomas, Edwina Hayes, Deborah Rose, Cara Dillon, Treetop Flyers, Reg Meuross, Blackbeard's Tea Party, and Richard Digance.

Not only have you the festival site itself to go at – but if the mood takes you, a short walk into the village opens up the delights of the ‘Fringe’ where the locals maximise the opportunity to provide visitors with a host of alternative events …. Including a full music programme in some of the pubs.

The 2014 festival has completely sold out its 20,000 tickets – organisers warn against travelling without a ticket as no tickets will be available on the gate!
