Folkrock legends Fairport Convention take to the road this month for a string of UK concert dates to promote their brand new studio album 'Myths And Heroes'.
The 26-date tour will open at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, on 29 January and finish at the Union Chapel in Islington, London, on 1 March. Venues include Sage Gateshead, The Lowry in Salford, Birmingham Town Hall and Union Chapel in Islington, London.
The concerts will feature songs and tunes from Myths And Heroes. It is the first Fairport Convention studio album for four years and will be released in March. Pre-release copies of the album will be on sale at the concerts.
"Our first love is performing live," says founder-member Simon Nicol, "so we're really looking forward to getting on the road again. This year will be a bit special because we've got a whole album's worth of new material to introduce. And, of course, we'll also be playing some familiar songs from our repertoire. We are really excited about these shows."
The concerts will open with a short set from guitar-fiddle duo Kevin Dempsey and Rosie Carson.
