‘Plage’ is the latest single to be taken from Crystal Fighters’ critically acclaimed debut album ‘Star Of Love’.  Due for release in August the song, with the sun at its heart, euphemises bawdy tales of beachside antics of French holiday makers in Italy in the 70s.  Crystal Fighters delve with their usual irreverence into this obscure pocket of historic revellry and turn up with a joyous, organic, techno-infused symphony of a ukelele pop song worthy of any good mood anywhere.   International nookie and mesmeric lyrical mischief are the order of the day against the Fighters irresistible backdrop of tropical woodblocks, euphoric guitar loops and the harmoniously loaded refrain.

The Crystal Fighters’ story keeps on building. The band’s last single ‘At Home’ was playlisted at Radio 1 and they were featured on the channel 4 shows Abbey Road Debuts and 4Play. They’ve also gained a much deserved reputation as one of the most exciting live acts around. Over the summer Crystal Fighters are playing a staggering 27 festivals, and the range is testament to the breadth of the band’s appeal – from Benicassim, Exit and Melt through to the Montreaux Jazz Festival and the Moseley Folk Festival.

In the UK they have performed at Glastonbury, Lattitude, Underage, The Big Chill. They will also be playing at Reading & Leeds, Bestival and the afore mentioned Moseley Folk Festival. The Independent On Sunday recently included them as one of six hot new acts who are a total must see at this year’s festivals. This all before a September mini UK tour including Shepherds Bush Empire Headline Show.

A deluxe version of ‘Star Of Love’ will be released on 1st August and will include five acoustic versions of the original songs and a brilliant cover of the cult Spanish song ‘Fiesta De Los Maniquins’ by the feted synth pop group Golpes Bajos.
