Camp Bestival themes are a big deal, it’s not just about getting dressed up the for the Saturday fancy dress parade, it is present in almost all aspects of the festival and this year is no different. As the headline might suggest this year’s theme is Outer Space. Activities will be bought to you by the most prominent authorities all things science; National Science Centre, The Science Museum, UK Space Agency and Royal Observatory Greenwich. If that wasn’t enough they’ve only gone and got The Clangers, you can’t get more out of the space than that when it comes to kids (and adult) entertainment.

Not wanting to over use the pun, but I will, the musical line-up is out of this world too! Headliners are Fat Boy Slim, Tear for Fears and Jess Glynne, a truly family friendly line-up. The fabulous and eclectic line-up doesn’t end there, these big three will be joined by Katy B, KT Tunstall, Squeeze, Arrested Development, Bananarama, Rat Boy, Turin Brakes, Brand New Heavies and The Cuban Brothers, and the list goes on.

As you would expect from a festival curated by Rob da Bank there is an extensive list of DJs, and this year the big names include David Rodigan, Norman Jay MBE, Sasha and Trevor Nelson.

Camp Bestival is one of the best family festivals in the UK and they definitely have pulled out all the stops. Festival regulars Mr Tumble and Dick Dom will be joined by Lazy Town Live on Stage, Aliens Love Underpants and Wallace and Gromit Grand Day Out. If that wasn’t enough there is the Freesports Park, Science Tent, Art Town and Bigtopmania Kids Theatre and Circus. So no parent should hear those dreaded words ‘We’re bored!’ And if you’ve got teens they will be happy too in The Den, an area dedicated for 13 to 17 year olds, where NO adults are allowed.

If you fancy a little more relaxing Camp Bestival you can visit the new Slow Motion arena, an area dedicated to reenergizing and rebalancing, with sauna and hot tubs, therapies, yoga and even mindful running. Couldn’t think of a better way to get over the night before, ready for another day of dancing.
