Organisers of the long-running Roman River Music Festival, based in rural Essex are looking for people to nominate someone special who will then enjoy a classical music concert in the comfort of their own home.

Festival director, Orlando Jopling, says: “We know there are people who cannot leave their house, so we’d like to bring music to them in their living room.

“We just need people to nominate someone! Perhaps they know someone who loves music but is housebound, or for whom it would mean a lot to be visited by a group of amazing musicians.

“Their friend, colleague or relative can be of any age, and don’t have to live in a big house – musicians can play in the tiniest of rooms. We will travel anywhere within the Colchester area or within half an hour drive of festival venues.”

Joining forces with BBC Essex Radio, Living Room Live will take place at 2pm on Friday 18th September when part of the concert will be broadcast along with some possible film coverage.

To nominate, you just need to go online at romanrivermusic.org.uk, click on the link and just tell the festival organisers why your friend should have the concert.

Orlando adds: “Tell us anything about their life that you would like us to know and then look through the concert listings for the festival, and let us know if there is a particular style of music, instrument or specific piece of music they would like us to play.

“We’ll do our best to accommodate any requests from any style of music.”

Nominations must be in by 5pm on Friday 11th September and the winner will be announced live on BBC Essex on Monday 14th September.

The concert will be completely free and it doesn’t cost anything to nominate someone.
